Glass Pool (km 53)


Glass Pool is another of the Sainte-Marguerite River lookouts. Besides the frolicking salmon, beavers often set up house in pool 49 of Glass Pool.

Glass Pool also shelters Falaise des cascades, a site so amazingly beautiful one is compelled to linger and contemplate the vista.

Salmon fishing on the Sainte-Marguerite River is renowned, and has been so for generations. At the time when the Hudson Bay Company ran a fur trading post at Tadoussac, it held hunting and fishing rights in and around the river. Many illustrious visitors have tested the waters here, including the Prince of Wales, who was introduced to salmon fishing by the Price family.
