The baie Sainte-Marguerite reception area is one of the doorways into parc national du Saguenay. A hiking trail meandering through a red pine forest brings you to a headland overlooking the bay, where a guide is in attendance during summer. This beautiful site is an outstanding location for beluga watching.

The Sainte-Marguerite River has three branches and contains over 100 Atlantic salmon pools in 13 sectors. The main branch, which flows from west to east along the Route du Fjord, comprises more than 75 pools teeming with salmon and sea trout. A few lookouts have been set up for those who want a close look at the king of rivers. Polarizing glasses can help better discern them in their natural habitat.
